Hispanics and HIV PDF Print E-mail

Choose right. Use a condom. Don’t share needles.

HIV/AIDS is the fourth leading cause of death among Hispanic/Latino men and women aged 35 to 44.

Did you know?

  • Although Hispanics/Latinos make up only about 13% of the population of the United States, they account for 16% of the AIDS cases diagnosed since the beginning of the epidemic.
  • Hispanics/Latinos are more likely than whites to be given a diagnosis during the late stages of HIV infection, or when they already have AIDS.
  • An estimated 77,125 Hispanics/Latinos with AIDS have died since the beginning of the epidemic.

As a result of this growing epidemic, someone you know: a brother, a son, a father, or a friend, has already been tested or treated. Do the same yourself.

Choose right. Get tested.
