HIV Specialty Care, including Primary Care, Nursing Care and Gynecology
CARES’ doctors are highly trained infectious disease specialists who provide cutting edge medical care specifically for HIV and AIDS patients. As patients are living longer, our physicians and nurse practitioners are here to care for conditions that come with aging. We also have a specialist available for treating abnormal gynecological conditions.

Dental Care
Dental care is especially important for people with compromised immune systems. Our dental staff provides on-site cleanings and basic dental procedures.

Outpatient Pharmacy & Adherence Counseling
CARES is fortunate to have a full service HIV/AIDS specialty pharmacy. Pharmacy staff members are experts in HIV medications, and our clinical pharmacist is available to help patients create a plan for taking their medicine.

Nutritional Counseling
CARES’ registered dietitian is available to help develop diet plans and provide nutritional advice.

Psychiatry & Mental Health Counseling
Many people with HIV/AIDS have mental health issues that can be treated with medications and close monitoring by a psychiatrist. CARES’ Mental Health Therapists also teach patients how to deal with depression and other disorders.

Substance Abuse Treatment
Help with substance abuse is available on an individual and group basis.

Medical Case Management
HIV/AIDS care and treatment can be difficult for a patient to manage. This service provides planning, coordination, and follow-up by a trained expert.

Eligibility and Resource Assistance
CARES trains staff to help patients determine their insurance eligibility, and locate available programs in the community to serve their needs.

Health Education
CARES‘ Health Educator is available to explain to patients in detail how HIV/AIDS acts in the body, and inform family members about what to expect.

Risk Reduction Counseling
CARES’ staff is able to counsel clients about reducing or eliminating the possibility of transmitting HIV to someone else.

Partner Counseling and Referral Services
If a client has exposed someone to HIV, this service can help find ways to notify the person and get them tested.

Outreach for Those Out of Care
CARES’ staff works to locate people who have fallen out of care, or help those who have difficulty making their appointments.

Support Groups
CARES runs a variety of groups to help clients cope with HIV/AIDS.  These groups range from Newly Diagnosed to L.I.F.E.© – the Learning Immune Functioning Enhancement 18 week group.

HIV and STI Testing
HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infection testing is available free on a walk-in basis, or by appointment, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Thursdays, 9:00am to 7:00pm. If a client doesn’t have insurance, STI testing is also little or no cost.

Community Education
CARES’ team of highly trained speakers, including staff and clients, are available for educational presentations and health fairs.
